On June 10, Melbourne Museum became the beating heart of Australia’s web community as Dot One Melbourne 2025—the flagship Craft CMS conference—unfolded. We were incredibly proud to be a key sponsor, supporting the event that celebrated Craft’s dynamic ecosystem and highlighted why it remains the content management system we trust most for mid-to-large organisations with complex or large-scale content managament needs.

Onstage with Spicy Web

Our own Tony Sambell (Founder), Chris Sargeant (Lead Developer), and Dominic Hudson (Digital Designer) took the stage together for a keynote Q&A. They explored how we architect custom content models, craft seamless editorial workflows, and scale Craft CMS to meet our clients’ evolving demands.

From leveraging Craft’s flexibility to integrating high-performing front‑end solutions, their insights underscored why Craft remains our go‑to CMS platform. The session resonated not just with developers—but also with strategists and content professionals, reinforcing Craft’s reputation as a solution that works beautifully for content managers and editors as well as technologists.

Meet the Minds Behind Craft

One of the highlights of the day was hearing from the actual team behind Craft CMS. Founder & CEO Brandon Kelly, Creative Director Travis Gertz, and Lead Developer Brad Bell were all present, sharing first-hand updates from the roadmap. They provided rare insight into the trajectory of Craft CMS and its vision for the future.

During their sessions, they dove into:

  • Craft Cloud – a fully managed, streamlined hosting environment that promises to simplify site deployments, maintenance and scaling.

  • Accessibility enhancements – new built-in features designed to ensure Craft sites comply with standards and are inclusive for all users.

  • Security improvements and audit tools – enhancements that reinforce why Craft continues to be a robust and secure long-term CMS choice.

These advances align perfectly with our commitment to delivering solutions that are secure, accessible, scalable—and above all, built to endure.

Why It Matters to Us (and Our Clients)

As a long-standing advocate for Craft CMS, this event reinforced why we remain confident in the platform’s future:

  • Innovation backed by evolution: Craft Cloud, accessibility, and security are not just buzzwords—they represent tangible improvements that directly benefit our work.

  • Enterprise-grade trust: ongoing security and audit tools protect our clients and their content investments.

  • Community-forward development: the personal involvement of Brandon, Travis, Brad, and the broader Craft team shows a genuine commitment to listening and responding to user needs.

A Celebration of Community

Dot One Melbourne felt less like a conference and more like a reunion of curious minds, creative thinkers, and dev-focused problem solvers. It was a reminder that the Australian Craft community is rich, supportive, and ambitious—focused not just on what works today, but what can work tomorrow.

Huge thanks to Pixel & Tonic team for delivering a thoughtfully curated, energising event. We walked away with renewed energy, new contacts, and a reinvigorated belief in Craft CMS as the best long-term CMS solution on the market.

We can’t wait for the next one.
